The Exclusive: Hopoi Vou cover of “Si’i Eku Pele” by Foni Pole’o. Download it today!
We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Hopoi Vou to learn about how he got started with music. Hopoi is a legend in the Tongan/Pacific Islander community and beyond for his talent and his vocal ability. To say we are big fans of Hopoi is an understatement. During his time with us, he shared with us his process of how he lays a track down in the studio. Thank you to Hopoi x Gio for laying the track down for your listening pleasure from start to finish. By the way, Hopoi laid all of his vocals down in ONE take! Incredible to watch the process. You can check out our discussion with him below from our youtube channel. If you haven’t already downloaded it, hit that link above and enjoy! You’re welcome :) Hopoi x Gio x IKUNA
A large part of the work we do is within our community. We know it is impossible to further elevate our culture and community without each other.
We host events and activities that are relevant and helpful to our community. That includes tying in resources that could support in education, financial, housing, food, career and much more. We love to support making cultural connections between the old and the new. That involves raising awareness amongst our youth about our culture and never forgetting our roots and the sacrifices that were made to get us here today. This can be done in a variety of ways including workshops, activities and events to create meaningful experiences.
We invite Pacific Islanders from all over the globe to join us as we ensure that our voice and our identity is not lost regardless of where we plant ourselves on this earth. We know that many of you are already doing great work and we hope to partner with you to help build our community.
Check out a couple of the events we’ve hosted below before Covid hit! Be sure to also visit the rest of our site and check out our youtube page.
